A member of Troop 118 and a Scout for 11 years, Avery is pursuing the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program. The requirements to be eligible include earning at least 21 merit badges. Avery has earned 32 merit badges, including the 14 which are mandatory for the Eagle Scout award.
Avery's undertaking for his service project is to restore and enhance the walking trail behind the Neumann Center. To date, he has spent countless hours working on site plans, obtaining approvals, mapping out the site, creating a budget, identifying skills and resources needed, preparing a timeline for the entire project from start to finish.
UPDATE: Avery's efforts resulted in his successfully being awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, April 2026!

The Project includes:
Clearing overgrowth and rerouting the trail for improved safety
Spreading fresh mulch along the entire path
Installing visible trail markers
Building and placing a permanent bench for everyone’s comfort
